The Clean Cleanse By Dr Junger

After this never ending winter, I decided that my body needed a major reset so I could feel my best again. In the last weeks, I heard many people talk about Dr Junger’s cleanse. A 21 days cleanse (sounds scary but I like challenges!) consisting a morning shake (you can mix anything from the allowed ingredients) mixed with a protein powder, a solid food meal in the afternoon (same again, anything from the list of allowed ingredients), and another smoothie in the evening (you can add a soup made from the allowed ingredients if you want to! – just anything liquid!)

I decided to keep a diary about this new challenge, telling it all, the good, the bad, what I ate and mostly how I felt!

DAY 1

What I ate:

  • Morning: a smoothie: blueberries, raspberries, one ripe mango, one kiwi frozen organic kale, frozen acai teaspoon of almond butter, protein powder, water
  • Lunch: I ordered the grain bowl from Soho House (brown rice, kale, carrots, beets, and grilled salmon) as well as an avocado dip with carrots and radicchios.
  • Snack: a homemade kale apple and lemon juice, blueberries and some almond butter
  • Dinner: I made an avocado and cucumber gazpacho with cilantro (serves 2: 1 avocado, 1 cucumber, 1 lemon juice, 2 table spoons of olive oil, a pinch of sea salt, cilantro, blend until smooth, serve cold) and the same smoothie as in the morning.

How I felt:

  • excited to start, a lot of energy and no hunger.
