Laure Heriard Dubreuil, 8 Months Pregnant

What has been your day to day look throughout your pregnancy? Do you have any favorite brands and silhouettes to wear?

Everyday, I choose between mainly two looks. First, Gap boyfriend jeans and Celine oversized sweaters. I have every wash of jeans possible and every Celine sweater from the Fall 2013 collection! Second, black Rick Owens drop crotch drawstring-waist pants and Piamita, Eres, or Equipment silk shirt / long-sleeve pajama top.

Shoes are always comfortable: Pierre Hardy flat double buckle boots, Balenciaga sneakers, Charlotte Olympia Kitty Ballerinas, Celine leopard loafers. As soon as I get home, I wear my purple Bottega Venetta woven leather slippers.

In the evenings, I wear a Rick Owens elastic waist skirt (knee or floor length), a bodysuit, and a BLK DNM, Celine, or Balenciaga leather biker jacket. For coats, I like to wear my Haider Ackermann black and white over-sized coat, worn open with something close to the body underneath, my Alaia forest green cape-coat, or Loro Piana black cashmere shawl.

For galas, a bias-cut silk lingerie dress – ankle-length in solid colors or prints – and Alaia dresses. Azzedine knows how to make you look sexy even when pregnant! If the event calls for statement jewelry, the options are usually a large shivor necklace by Aurelie Bidermann, Lanvin “Cool” or “Hot” necklace (as you’re cool and hot when you’re pregnant!), and Delfina Delettrez and Eddie Borgo statement earrings. A Maison Michel head-piece is also a good diversion for your new sized body.

For bags, clutches only, as you don’t want to carry a heavy bag when you’re pregnant. Clutches in fun designs or bright colors are good to divert the eye a little: The Webster Dictionary exclusive clutch for The Webster by Olympia Le Tan, Hermes mini-kelly clutch in vibrant colors, Chanel colorful lego clutches, or N•5 plexi clutch.

Are there any style tips you can share with moms?

No over-sized dresses. I made that mistake at the beginning of my pregnancy and actually was looking more pregnant than the 7 and 9 month-pregnant women around me. I wouldn’t recommend short shorts or very short dresses/skirts. They’re not so flattering when pregnant I feel.

What has the journey of pregnancy been like for you? What has been your most and least favorite parts about it?

I have been extremely blessed as my pregnancy has been “a walk in the park” so far. The best moments are when you feel the baby moving and kicking inside, or when you meet him/her for the first time thanks to 3D pictures. My least favorite part would have to be my back aching at the end of the day!

Do you have any favorite spots in New York, Miami, or Paris to de-stress? Perhaps a spa or massage place?

Miami: “Udderly Gorgeous Full Body Care” 90 minute treatment at Soho Beach House.

NYC: “Great expectations” 75 minutes Bliss Spa massage (they have a special pillow so you can actually lie on your tummy. It feels nice after months on the side only). I enjoy Reflexology as well and I have to admit, I might have had a 10 minute back massage in almost every nail parlor in New York! But the highlight of my pregnancy body treatments was at the Royal-Monceau Spa My Blend by Clarins in Paris with the “Neuf Mois en Beauté“.

You have a very calm, warm demeanor which we love. How do you maintain that throughout a pregnancy, which can sometimes be quite demanding?

Thank you. I feel so lucky to be pregnant, I think it is the most beautiful time of my life so I actually feel even more calm and relaxed as I am so happy!

Can you tell us about your beauty and fitness routine during your pregnancy?

I do one hour of Prenatal Yoga every morning, always climb the stairs up 4 floors instead of taking the elevator, and walk as much as possible. I was swimming quite a lot during the summer but not so much in the winter.

I shower with Mustela Bebe Dermo-Cleansing gel (I love the smell plus it puts me in “baby-mode”) followed by Clarins Tonic oil all over my body. They’re the best for skin elasticity, to avoid stretch-marks and to wake you up in the morning. I started applying Lansinoh nipple cream during the last weeks of my pregnancy to prepare for breast-feeding.

I wear SPF 40 sun ream everyday on my face even in the winter in NYC, and my exfoliate face and body very often. I like to alternate between my regular fragrance Lys Mediterranee by Frederic Malle and Eau de Bonpoint by Bonpoint as it is so fresh and puts me in “baby-mode” as well.

What are you looking forward the most in becoming a mom?

Kissing my baby and seeing him grow (but not too fast!)

Have you started shopping for the baby? Any favorite brands?

In general: Bonpoint, Oeuf. Johnny Pigozzi is going to make some LimoLand baby clothes. I can’t wait for those! For furniture, Eames Children accessories designs.

In Paris: Zef, Bonton, Baudou, Ovale, and La Chatelaine

In New York: ABC Carpet, Yoya store, My Little Sunshine, and Acorn in Brooklyn.

Online: Flora Henri, Restoration Hardware, Giggle, Tiny Hollow, Mini Mioche, and Amazon!
