Easter Traditions from Alice Ryan
My sweet-toothed little ones dream all year long about Easter. Grey can tell me precisely which candy he hopes to find. Elliott, as with all things, has precisely the same wishes as her big brother. I have paper mâché eggs from Germany that I’ve collected over the years that I love to fill with Cadbury’s mini-eggs–my childhood favorite!
Easter weekend marks the beginning of the Spring holidays and we are lucky enough to have family with us from London, which will make this year’s celebrations all the more memorable. My mother brings chocolate Kinder Eggs, with a tiny toy inside each one, that the children obsess over.
And nothing is more adorable that the egg hunt in the village and then our own treasure hunt in the garden. Grey and Elliott’s excitement is impossible to contain as they fill their baskets to the brim, finding eggs in between the daffodils and hyacinths.
This year with our new baby it will feel all the more special– baby Barnes reminds us that Easter is all about new beginnings and the promise of Spring.
